when they moved to Cape May Co, NJ. Thomas was a whaler man and it was
no doubt the whaling industry that brought him to cape May. He was
probably associated with his brother Shamgar in this work."
There is some speculation that the mother of Thomas Hand's children
was Martha or Hannah Osborn. However, the preponderance of the
evidence points to Mary Talmadge. I will keep Mary Talmadge as mother
of the children but will retain Martha or Hannah Osborn as a wife of
Thomas until I have more concrete evidence.
