Biography

Mary Dorchester was daughter of Anthony Dorchester and his first wife Sarah ____. Mary married John Harmon Jan. 7th 1668, in Springfield, Massachusetts." [1668/9] [2] and they were named in the probate documents following her father's 1683 death. Mary's mother died in 1649.[1] Mary's birth was not recorded in Springfield, as were the births of her later siblings. She was probably born in Windsor where the records are not as complete. She was married in 1669 so a legitimate estimate of her birth would be 1648. "Mary Hermon the wife of John Hermon was Sick and died feb: 7 Anno 1711/12" in Springfield, just days before her husband's death.[2]
