About Mary Hastings


Biography

Mary Field, daughter of John and Mary Edwards of Hatfield, was born 20 Feb 1680 in Hatfield, Hampshire, Massachusetts, and died there on 9 Nov 1764, and was buried in the Hill Cemetery.

She married 6 Mar 1701 to Dr. Thomas Hastings. He was baptized on 24 Sep 1679 [1], at Hatfield, the son of Dr. Thomas Hastings and Anna Hawks, and died there there 14 Apr 1728 at age 48, and was buried in the Hill Cemetery.

They had 12 children.

The 12 children of Mary Fieldings and Thomas Hastings were:

Like his father, "He was a physician; his professional services were much sought for, and he was often called to attend patients in Boston. On one of these calls to Boston he was suddenly taken ill; and, as tradition says, thought he was the victim of slow poison. He lived to reach home, told his wife of his impressions, and the he should soon die; as he did, April 14, 1728, in his 48th year."[3][4]
