The 1623 Visitation has this Mary as the 4th daughter of John Savage of Cheston, Cheshire.
Monica Kannelis, who is of this line, disagrees with this:
"The Hitchcock pedigree in the Visitation of Wiltshire has Mary Savage as 4th daughter of Sir John Savage of Cheshire and Elizabeth Manners, but this appears to be incorrect as that Mary (the niece of this one) lived circa 1560-1622. As the more detailed part of the pedigree is in italics, it is likely a later interpretation and probable that the Mary originally intended is in the previous generation. Both Marys had fathers, Sir John Savage, and mothers who were Lady Elizabeth, and the daughters of Earls so they might be easily confused. The Mary who was christened in 1527 would be a suitable age to have a great great grandchild christened in 1622. Intervening christening records are lost, but the Hitchcock pedigree is shown in the visitation and made clearer by family wills."
However, even a birth in 1527 does not gel with the bequests made in her will to her numerous grandchildren, she must have been a generation older than this.
