Mary Norton, the daughter of Edward Norton of County Armagh, Ireland, deceased, married as his third wife, Richard Brown at West Nottingham Monthly Meeting, Chester County, Pennsylvania (now Cecil County, Maryland) on the 24th day of the 8th month (October), 1733 O.S. She was born circa 1713.
Richard and Mary had three children: Richard born on the 18th day of the 7th month (September), 1734, and died on the 4th day of the 7th month (September), 1738; Joseph born on the 1st day of the 2nd month (April), 1736, and died on the 19th day of the 3rd month (May), 1751; and Mercer (written often as Messer) born the 7th day of the 5th month (July), 1740, and died in 1802.
Richard died on the 10th day of the 2nd month (April), 1745. Mary then married in the 2nd month (April), 1747, as his third wife, William Kirk. Mary's death on the 11th day of August, 1772, was recorded by the Fairfax Monthly Meeting, Loudoun County, Virginia.
