Obituary –

MAHONEY Mary Elizabeth Mahoney, 87, departed this life February 25, 2007. She was preceded in death by her five brothers, Aubrey, Bernard, John, Edward, and Charles Mahoney; her niece Theresa Mahoney; and nephew George Mahoney. Mary is survived by two sisters–in–law, Lois Mahoney and Frances Mahoney; nine nieces and nephews, Anne Knightly, Audrey Walker, Jeanne Mahoney, Nancy Hayden, Vincent Mahoney, Brenda Fisher, Edward Mahoney, Michael Mahoney, and Deborah Jones; and many great – and great – great – nieces and nephews. Mary retired after 45 years from C&P Telephone Company and continued to work with many volunteer programs. Aunt Mary’s greatest joy was her family, especially the children. Her love of the beach and river was legendary and provides great memories for all. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bliley Funeral Homes’ Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where a Christian Wake service will be held at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 1503 Michael Rd., Richmond, Va. 23229.
