According to the National Genealogical Society Quarterly, Vol. XXVII, March 1939, No. 1 for the Vital Records From Columbian Star (D.C.) by Mrs. Marion (Lang) Driscoll, Washington, D.C. Died (Issue of April 27, 1822): Washington, April 20, Mrs. Susan Monroe, 52, wife of Lund Washington.

On January 28, 1819, she married Joseph S. MacPherson (1789-1824) in the District of Columbia. He was a Commander of the United States Navy. Her will verified as of September 18, 1873 mentioned the following: daughter, Susan W. Edwards, wife of John S. Edwards; granddaughter, Mary M. Tyler; granddaughter Nannie Rawleigh or Raleigh; grandson, Joseph MacPherson Edwards; great-granddaughter Alice Tyler, daughter of Henry B. Tyler; sister Sally W. Maupin; nephews Chapman Maupin and Robert W. Maupin and deceased brother Peter G. Washington.
