She also married Aaron Couts (b: 1780 in Warren, Ky) in 1820. Parents: Bavester Barton (b: 1755 in SC or Wales - 5/16/1813 in Bowling Green, Warren Co, KY) and Elizabeth Couts (b: 1760 in SC - 1841 in Odessa, Lafayette, MO) md. 1783 in Laurens Dist, SC Grandparents: Thomas Barton (? SC - 1770 SC), Mary

Berry/Greenberry (c.1790 SC - 1851), son of Bavester died in Cuba, Graves Co, KY. Wade (c. 1793 SC - 1892) also died in Cuba, Graves Co in 1882. Both are in Dist 1, p478 of Graves in 1850. Mary is at p512.

DAR Patriot List 1990 says: Barton, Bavister, b. 1755-65 d. a 10- -1813. m. Elizabeth - - - Sol SC. DAR applications for service say he served in Pickens Brigade after the fall of Charleston. Both members (#617343 Add 647 and #639644 Add 682) joined through his daughter Charity (Barton) Rose. See below for more information.

Family group sheet compiled 19 May 1981 by Mrs. Roger Barton, 104 N. Sunset Drive, Ithaca, NY 14850. Says: Bavester Barton (and variant spellings), b. 1755-1764 (c. 1760). According to 1880 census record of his son Wade Barton, he was b. in SC; family tradition said in Wales. 1st known land grant: 1787 on Warrior Cr/Enoree R of Laurens Dist, SC; 2nd grant on Drake's Cr, nr BC, Warren Co., KY '03.. Wife Elizabeth, b. 1755-1765 (c. 1760< poss SC?--d. date unknown, Lafayette Co., MO. Poss bur. Prairie Cem., Mayview, MO. Note at bottom of sheet says: Children took the widowed mother with them to Lafayette Co., Mo., in 1824; Wade and Berry moved to Henry Co., TN, and later to Graves Co., KY. Bathsheba and husband went to Illinois (Montgomery and Clinton Cos.) Mary and husband returned to Hall Co., GA. Bentley B. BARTON and Francis Ann BARTON (wife of Christopher Chrisley COUTS) went to Lafayette Co., Mo.
