Author Diana Hibbert Bailey
Altough I don't technically qualify as a "reader" of "Across the Border". I would like to share some information on a family line I have been working on for over two years now. I am collecting all data on the descendants of Hugh Miller and Mary Roger (to the 7th generation). Hugh and Mary were the first settlers, along with several of their chi., sons-in-laws, and grandchildren, of Richford, Franklin Co., Vt., Mary was the sister of Maj. Robert Rogers, very prominent during the French and Indian Wars - but a persona non grata later as he remained Loyal to Britain. I have collected a lot of data on 4 of Hugh and Mary's chi.- namely Samuel, Mary, James, & Jacob. Samuel settled in Johnson, VT. Mary m Benjamin Barnet, lived in Richford and Sutton, Que., where her brother James was the first settler of Glen Sutton. Jacob remained in Richford. Hugh and Mary had 3 other sons- Robert of Bolton, VT & Danile who d. quite young and 2 of Daniel's daus., Polly b. ca 1802, and Anna b 15 Sep 1803 (both b. Richford) remain elusive and I would like any info. Acc. to one source, they were both alive in 1871. -Diana
