MRS. M. M. PALMER A well-known and respected resident of the West Ipswich district, Mrs. Mary Maria Palmer, died in hospital last Sunday at the age of 77 years. The late Mrs. Palmer, who was a niece of the late Dr. J. C. Bradfield, was born at Ipswich in 1883. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bradfield. She married the late Harry Wilce Palmer, who came to Ipswich as a boy from Cornwall. The late Mrs. Palmer is survived by four sons, Norman (Redcliffe), Roy, Leslie, and Richard (Ipswich), seven grand- children, three great grandchildren, three sisters, Mesdames. Peter Mole (Bundamba), H. Schrader (Annerley), and Don Cameron (Brisbane); and two brothers, Messrs. W. and R. Bradfield, both of Bris- bane. In her younger days the late Mrs. Palmer took an active interest in St. Paul's Church of England. She was a member of St. Paul's Mothers' Union, and a social convener at the annual Sunday School treats. At one time she served on the Ladies' committee of the West Ipswich State School. She had been in failing health since the end of last year. The funeral took place to the Ipswich Cemetery on Monday, Rev. H. Kestell Cornish officiating.
