    Mary Arabella Maddox was the daughter of Reverend Hinton Maddox.1 She married, firstly, Duke Gifford before 1805.1 She married, secondly, John Henry Petty, 2nd Marquess of Lansdowne, son of General William Petty, 1st Marquess of Lansdowne and Lady Sophia Carteret, on 27 May 1805 at 33 Mount Street, St. George Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.1 She died on 24 April 1833 at Wycombe Lodge, Kensington, London, EnglandG.1 Her will (dated 31 December 1821) was proven (by probate) in June 1833.1
    From before 1805, her married name became Gifford.1 From 27 May 1805, her married name became Petty.1 As a result of her marriage, Mary Arabella Maddox was styled as Marchioness of Lansdowne on 27 May 1805. Citations
