brief biography

P. 4. 2d. Benjamin2 Sexton (George1) was born at Westfield, Massachusetts, December 10, 1667, and died there April 8, 1754.(q) He married, July 3, 1717, Mrs. Mary (Strong) Pixley, widow of Ebenezer Pixley and daughter of Jedediah Strong. She died April 17, 1759. The old homestead, near Westfield, was known as "Little River," and as it was strongly built, it was used In early times as a fort and as a refuge from the Indians. Descendants were called Saxton and some remained in the vicinity of Westfield for 200 years.
