About Mary Smith

9 Mary Cocke must have been born around 1680. She married Obadiah Smith around 1700 or a little later. I have eight children listed for them, although there seems to be some doubt about whether one or two of them were children or younger siblings of Obadiah Smith. She died on her husband's plantation on Turkey Creek, in southeastern Henrico County, in 1754.

Origins

"4. William Cocke born 1655; died 1693. He married first, Jane Clarke, in 1678; and second, Sarah Flower, about 1689. He left 3 children, William, Mary and Elizabeth. This William Cocke was no doubt the William Cocke, whose daughter Sarah in 1723 married Capt. Henry Wood." "Genealogy of the Cocke Family of Virginia" The Magazine of History and Biography 3, no. 4 (1896): 405-414. ( p 411). Retrieved from http://www.jstor.org/stable/4241922
