About Mary Deane Williams

Williams, Mary, wife of Seth, died Oct. 24, 1818, age 70 yrs (Inscription on her gravestone, Bruce Cemetery, Pomfret, Connecticut)

Mary Snow, if actually a daughter of Ebenezer Snow, is a descendant of several Mayflower passengers. She is the great great granddaughter of John Alden and Priscilla Mullins. She is also the great great granddaughter of Peter Browne, Mayflower passenger.

Parentage of Mary Snow

The step-mother of Mary Snow, daughter of Ebenezer Snow, was Lydia Deane Wilbore Snow, who was the daughter of Sarah Williams of Taunton, great aunt of this Mary Snow's husband, Seth Williams. This is the corroborating piece of evidence for the parentage of Mary Snow. The other piece of evidence is that Seth Williams was from Raynham. Ebenezer Snow of Bridgewater moved to Raynham (they were in the same vicinity) and had a daughter, Mary, born circa 1745. Raynham was not a large town so given the fact that Seth Williams and Ebenezer Snow's third wife were close relatives, it makes sense that Mary Snow Williams was the daughter of Ebenezer Snow and Sarah Hooper.

A third piece of evidence, very convincing, is that Mary Snow and Seth Williams named their third child Ebenezer. I believe there is no doubt given the evidence that Mary Snow was the daughter of Ebenezer Snow.
