Galbraith and Robert Stewart told their grandchildren many times the story that Mary Gass who was a very fair and beautiful girl like her Holland ancestors, had been stolen by the Indians and that William Stewart was one of the rescuing party. She stayed in the wigwams for several years until taken to Canada. The rescuing party was headed by then governor of the Colony of Pennsylvania.
