About Mrs Mary Symmes
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/137027273/mary-symmes
Mary Sparhawk was born about 1630 in or near Coggeshall, Essex, England. Her parents were Nathaniel Sparhawk and Mary Anger. Mary came to New England with her parents and siblings by 1638, when she was about eight years old. The family settled in Cambridge, Middlesex, Massachusetts by 1638, where her father was a deacon of the church. Her mother died in Cambridge in 1643. Mary became the wife of William Symmes about 1650, probably in Cambridge. Mary and William had at least one child, a daughter who was named Sarah, about 1652. They may have had more children. Mary died sometime before 1674, because William married Mary Chickering about that time. There is no reason to believe that mary died anywhere except Charlestown. Mary’s brother Nathaniel called William Symmes “brother” in his will. Mary’s half sister Elizabeth, who died in 1692, left a gift to Moses Fisk in behalf of his children by wife, Sarah, who was deceased, indicating that Mary’s daughter Sarah was also dead by 1692. The place of Mary’s burial is not known.
