Mrs. John TOMCZYK Sr. Dies; Rites Saturday

Mrs John TOMCZYK Sr, 85, died at 4:20 a.m. today at the home of her daughter, Mrs Leonard JAGODZINSKI, Rt 4. She had been ill since suffering a stroke 6 months ago.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Satuday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Sigel, the Rev KLIMEK officiating. Burial is to follow in the parish cemetery.

Mrs TOMCZYK, whose maiden names was Mary SZATKOWSKI, was born in Milwaukee on Jan 18, 1873, the daugher of Mr and Mrs John SZATKOWSKI, coming to the town of Sigel with her parents as a child. She maried John TOMCZYK in Sigel on Jun 6, 1885 (error!). Mr TOMCZYK preceded his wife in death in Mar, 1947. 4 children died in infancy.

Surviving are 10 children: Mrs Leonard JAGODINSKI, Rt. 4; Frank, Rt 1, Rudolph; John, Pittsville; Marie TOMCZYK; Mrs. Stanley RAKOWSKI; Mrs. Joseph KITZKE; Mrs Cecelia MANNIGEL; and Raymond all of Milwaukee; Anton, Cudahy; and Edward, Greendale, WI; one sister, Mrs Julia PIOTROWSKI, Milwaukee, 21 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Higgins Funeral Home from 6 p.m. Thursday until services. Prayers will be said at 8 p.m. Thursday by the Alter and Rosary Society of which whe was a member. A general rosary will be held at on Friday.
