John Turner (James Turner) was born 1641 in Charles City County, Virginia (Formed 1634 From Charles City) and died Aft 25 Mar 1705 in Isle Of Wight County, Virginia (Formed 1637 From Warrosquyouke County Formed In 1634).

He married Mary Tomlin on 1665 in Isle Of Wight County, daughter of Matthew Tomlin. She was born 1644 in Isle Of Wight County, Virginia and died 1705 in Isle Of Wight County, Virginia.

Children of John Turner and Mary Tomlin are:

1. Simon Turner was born 1667 in Isle Of Wight County, Virginia, and died 1761 in Southampton County, Virginia (Formed 1749 From Isle Of Wight, Nansemond Counties).
2. Mary Turner was born 1675 in Isle Of Wight County, Virginia, and died 27 Apr 1733 in Isle Of Wight County, Virginia..
3. Ann Turner was born 1676 in Isle Of Wight County, Virginia.
4. Thomas Turner was born 1677 in Isle Of Wight County, Virginia.
5. John Turner was born 1679 in Isle Of Wight County, Virginia, and died 16 Jul 1757 in Isle Of Wight County, Virginia.
6. Joseph Edward Turner was born 1685 in Isle Of Wight County, Virginia, and died Aft 7 Apr 1737 in Brunswick County, Virginia (Formed 1720 From Prince George, Isle Of Wight, Surry Counties).
7. William Turner was born 1690 in Isle Of Wight County, Virginia, and died in Isle Of Wight County, Virginia.
8. James Turner was born 1691 in Isle Of Wight County, Virginia, and died Aft 18 Jul 1763 in Southampton County, Virginia.

Matthew Tomlin, in his will, dated March 7, 1684, mentioned several people including a son, Matthew Tomlin; a grandson, Matthew Tomlin; a daughter and granddaughter named Mary Turner; his son-in-law, John Turner and others.

Mary Tomlin, daughter of Matthew Tomlin, married John Turner. John Turner signed his will on March 25, 1705. It was probated in 1705.

The children of Mary and John Turner:

• A. Mary Turner. Mary married Edward Harris (1663-1734) (d121).
• B. John Turner; d. 1743.
• C. James Turner; d. 1743.
• D. Thomas Turner.
• E. Simon Turner; d. 1762.
• F. Joseph Turner

Joseph married Burchet Lundy, the daughter of Elizabeth Burchet and James Lundy. (Burchet, later, married Edward Green).

Chapman's Isle of Wight County Marriages records the marriage of (unknown) Tomlin, daughter of Mathew Tomlin, in 1684. However, the 1684 date is from the date of Mary Tomlin's grandfather?s will of 1684, in which she is a legatee. The marriage date is more likely about 1673.
