Daniel was a son of James Waters and his wife Mary Stallworthie. He was born at Topsfield, Massachusetts, on 29 March 1682.[1]

Daniel Waters was married to Mary Cloyse, daughter of Thomas Cloyse and Susannah (Lewis) Cloyse, at Topsfield on 19 December 1704.[1] They moved from Essex County, Massachusetts, to Killingly, Connecticut, between 1716 and 1720. [2]

Daniel Waters made his will at Killingly on 28 November 1754; it was presented for probate on 9 December 1754.[2]

Children of Daniel Waters and Mary (Cloyse) Waters were:[3]

  1. Mary, born at Topsfied 3 March 1705/6, died at Topsfield 28 May 1706.
  2. Hannah, born at Topsfield 2 March 1706/7, died at Topsfield 4 February 1709 (or 1709/10?).
  3. David, born at Topsfield 16 October 1708, married Margery Whitmore.
  4. Jemima, born at Topsfield 8 March 1709/10, married Phinehas Lee of Killingly in about 1729.
  5. Mary, born at Topsfield 27 October 1711, married Joseph Moffit of Newbury, Massachusetts, in about 1730. They were living at Sturbridge, Massachusetts, on 24 January 1756 when her father's land was divided.
  6. Susannah, born at Topsfield on 7 August 1713, married James Johnson at Killingly on 19 December 1732, died at Sturbridge on 9 or 10 April 1774.
  7. Abigail, born at Topsfield 8 December 1715.
  8. Hannah, born at Topsfield 5 June 1716, married Aaron Allen.
  9. Jonathan, born say 1718, in Killingly, known only from a mention in Daniel Waters' will.
  10. Sarah, born in Killingly 16 June 1720, married Benjamin Chillson.
  11. Huldah, born in Killingly on 21 August 1722, married Henry Burt.
