Mary Whitmore was born October 25, 1752 in Medford, MA, the daughter of William Whitmore and Mary (Brooks) Whitmore. She married in 1775, Capt. Joshua Walker the son of Capt. Joshua Walker Sr. and Mary (Proctor) Walker. They moved to Rindge, NH, about 1780. Mary and Joshua were farmers and inn keepers in Rindge and resided on the farm later of Capt. Asa Brewer then Zachariah F. Whitney. This farm was located on what is now the campus of Franklin Pierce University. Mary and Joshua had six children. She died October 13, 1823, aged 72 years.
