Maryam Bella Kaganoff

Bubby Maryam Bella was born in the Ukraine, in a town called Buki. She when Zaidy Dovid had to flee the communist authorities(1931-33), it fell on her to provide for her three young children materialistically and spiritually for about two years. During this time, she sat in prison for crimes like teaching her children how to read Aleph-Bais. Eventually, the family was reunited in America. They emigrated to Chicago. She lived to about 90, surviving her husband by over twenty years.
