She was born on 5 February 1830 at Puerto Luis, Soledad Island, las Malvinas, the only Argentine girl born in Las Malvinas before the English invasion. She was the daughter of Luis Vernet and María Sáez. She married a US marine. She died on 24 September 1924. (Sosa de Newton, 665)

Malvina Vernet was born on 5 February 1830 at Malvina Islands, Argentina. She was the daughter of Gov. Luis Vernet and Maria Saez. She married Commander Greenleaf Cilley, son of Honorable Jonathan Longfellow Cilley and Deborah Prince, on 13 May 1861 at Montevideo, Uruguay. She died on 24 September 1924 at Argentina at age 94.
Greenleaf Cilley and Malvina were in the Ford Theater in Washington, DC 15 April 1865 when President Abraham Lincoln was shot. Malvina's mother made a note of it in her diary
