Matthew Farrington, Jr. was the son of Matthew Farrington, Sr. and grandson of Edmund Farrington (the Immigrant).

He married Sarah Potter, as his first wife, on April 28 ,1675 in Lynn.

They had the following children:

1. Sarah born 1675/6 in Lynn and died November 11-26-1676.
2. Sarah born September 20, 1677 in Lynn.

5. Joseph born June 10,1686 in Lynn.

Mathew Farrington Sr. was born in 1623 in Olney, Buckinghamshire, England, a son of Edmund and Elizabeth (Newhall) Farrington; Mathew migrated to New England with his parents, brother and two sisters aboard the ship, Hopewell in 1635; he married Elizabeth Sisley in the year 1648 in Lynn, Essex County, Massachusetts.
