… I give to my eldest son Matthew Mead to bar him from claiming any share in my estate, for that he hath formerly received what I thought fit to give him, the sum of ten pounds.

This Mathew, if born in Virginia, was not the son of Rev. Matthew Mead, 1629-1699. While some of his children traveled to the New World, he did not. I will move this person into the proper generation as soon as I figure out where he belongs.
