GENEALOGICAL NOTE:
This family has been plagued by spelling variations, especially in the surname Mullinix vs. Mullinax for many generations. Both spellings are found all the way back to England in the 1600s... The name seems originally to have been a corruption of the French name: "Moulineaux;" the family could have been French Huguenots (Protestants) fleeing Roman Catholic France in the 1500-1600s, or earlier immigrants from France. After much research, I believe I have found accurate names and coherent dates for this line, at least. [1]
