About Maude Bishop

Mrs. Maude L. Bishop Dies Monday Morning: Mrs. Maude Langston Bishop, age 64, for the past five years a prominent resident of Tod Park and LDS Church worker, died at the Tooele General Hospital Monday morning follow a weeks illness. She was the wife of D. Earl Bishop and they had resided in Hinckley, Millard County, since childhood prior to coming to Tod Park. Mrs. Bishop was born at Rockville, Utah, August 23, 1885, and moved to Millard County at the age of 11 years. She was the daughter of Jacob H. and Alice Hall Langston, pioneers of the Dixie country. Mrs. Bishop has been active in LDS Church organizations since girlhood and was beloved by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, in the Sunset Lawn Mortuary in Salt Lake City, where interment will also take place. Surviving are her husband, five children, Mrs. Elnor Titensor Bedford, Wyoming; Lavon Bishop and Mrs. Fayon Jones, Tooele; Garth F. Bishop, Hinckley, Utah; Mrs. Marie Heaton of Ogden; fourteen grandchildren. Six sisters also survive, Mrs. Ella Meacham, Mrs. Mrytle Wright, both of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Sarah Adams and Mrs. Carrie Gardner, Sparks, Nevada, and Mrs. Emeola Shaldus, California.

Funeral Held in SLC For Mrs. Maude L. Bishop: A crowd beyond the capacity of the Olsen Mortuary Chapel in Salt Lake City was present last Wednesday at 1 p.m. for the funeral services of Mrs. maude Langston Bishop, beloved Tod Park resident, and wife of Daniel E. Bishop, who died November 21st at the Tooele General Hospital. Bishop Rulon F. Hinckley, of the 17th Ward in Salt Lake City, was one of the speakers, in addition to conducting the service. The other speakers were President Alex F. Dunn, of Tooele Stake and Mrs. mary E. Lee, and Mrs. June Pratt, close friends of the family, who now reside in Salt Lake City, formerly of Hinckley, former home of the Bishop family. A ladies trio sang three selections, "In The Garden," "Going Home," and "All Through The Night." A violin solo "Perfect Day," was played. Invocation was by bishop Verdell Bishop and benediction by Don A. Bishop. Interment was in the Sunset Lawn Memorial Park. Joseph M. Wright dedicated the grave.
