About Maude Lee McInnes
According to Nina's recollection Maude had a car accident and broke her nose - date unknown.
Maude passed away at Rex Hospital. She had lived at 1821 Glenwood Ave.
She was a graduate of Winthrop College and recieved a Master's degree in Sociology from N.C. State College. She was a a home demonstration agent in Wake County for nearly 30 years. Before her retirement in 1955, she received two of the highest awards in her field; The National Home Demonstartion Agent Association's Superior award and the superior service award from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Maude was a member of Hayes Barton Baptist Church and was a teacher of the Fidelis Class for many years. At the time of her death she was vice president of the Raleigh Garden Club and was chairman of the Home and Neighborhood Development Program. She was a member of the American Association of University Women, serving as state legislative chairman. Also, she was secretary of the Retired Civil Employees Association and was a past president of the N.C. Home Economics Association.
