MAURICE CRÉPEAU

L be patronyms Crespin, Crespel, Crespieul and Crespeau allis connected on the old French word Crest, which meanscrisp. Maurice Crépeau was born in the village called "Les Roches-Baritaud" in the "ancienne province" of Poitou, France. He was baptized on November 25, 1637.

Charles de Lauzon, sior of Charny, July 15, 1662, concedes in Maurice Crépeau a ground of 3 arpents face in the islandof Orleans, northern side, current parish of Saint-Pierre.

The regiment of Carignan arrives in 1665, in the Colony, torelight the flame of the hope and confidence, among theinhabitants of the country. This year there, the kingfinanced the arrival of 89 girls to be married, including36, of the town of Paris.

Maurice found his pearl among these girls.

With the census of 1667, the Crépeau family remains in afarm with Saint-Pierre of the island of Orleans. Between1667 and 1684, nine children are born, whose second girl isthat which concerns us. Marguerite, was born the 11 andbaptized on March 12, 1669 with Ste-Family.

Marguerite Crépeau leaves the family hearth at the 16 yearsage, to found her hearth. The marriage is celebrated onNovember 5, 1685, with the church of Saint-Pierre, withGeorge Plante, born about 1659, wire of the ancestor JeanPlante and Marguerite Boucher . Eleven children are bornwith the couple Marguerite and George, including two girlswho concern us in this genealogical description.

The first, Marguerite Plant, born in 1686, wife in 1706,the widower of Marie-Anne Manseau since 1703, CharlesDelage, born in 1672 and wire of the ancestor NicolasDelage and Marie Petit.

The second girl, Marie-Joseph Plant, wife in 1725, CharlesDelage, born in 1698, the son of the first woman of thehusband of her Marguerite sister.

The ancestor Maurice Crépeau, 68 years old, expires MondaySeptember 8, 1704, his funeral are celebrated Wednesday 10in the morning.
