Maurice married secondly Joan, daughter of the 4th Earl of Desmond, by whom he had a son,

    Maurice fitz John fitz Nicholas, 5th Baron of Kerry and Lixnaw was the son of John fitz Nicholas, 4th Baron of Kerry and Lixnaw and Honor O'Brien.1 

He married, firstly, Elizabeth de Caunton, daughter of Sir David de Caunton, circa 1355.1

He and Joan fitz Maurice obtained a marriage license on 27 February 1398/99 by Papal dispensation.1

He died circa 1398.1 He was buried at Ardfert, County Kerry, IrelandG.1
He succeeded as the 5th Baron of Kerry and Lixnaw [I., c. 1295] circa 1378.1
