When Dolly was a child her father owned buildings in Brookyln. He was a landlord to many business. During the war he opened several laundromats which only had washing machines, no dryers. people who lived nearby had only cold water flats/apartments. they would have to boil water to wash clothes. so for 25 cents they would bring and weigh their laundry, then take it home to hang it out to dry. it was a very successful business and he made a lot of money.

then he worked in windows - as the middle man.

he always had a car - even a limosine once during the war.

He loved to read. he died young at about 58 of colorectal cancer.
