https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/154805555/mcgrada-sizemore
McGrada, who was lovingly known later as "Poppy" was the son of George Sizemore, and Frankie Patton Sizemore. He married Mary A. Carr. They had 5 children, Mary, Ella or Ellie, Georgia, Clara, and Thomas Edward.
Poppy, often claimed he would live to be 100 years old.
In January of 1953, during a trip to town he was injured. According to a grandson of his, Poppy, had exited the old truck his daughter was driving, and unbeknown to her as she waved and drove away, as he was going to the rear to retrieve his walking cane his overalls became caught on the truck, causing him to be dragged a short distance before falling into the street, consequently breaking his hip. His death certificate states he died due to pneumonia, brought on by a "fall into the street".
It was said up until that time he was in good health, had all his own teeth, and his mind was sharp as a tack! Census records indicate he owned a farm for more than 30 years on Alcorn Rd. in Greenup, KY.
