Josiah Standish had no daughter Mehitable. Torrey has suggested that she was a widow, Mehitable (Packard) Standish however this identity has not been found.Her parents and maiden name are unknown.

As of 14 Jun 2017 the Mayflower Society states that Mehitable is NOT the daughter of Josiah Standish and Sarah Allen.

Although I wish it were true, as I would like to claim descent from Myles Standish, there is no evidence that Mehitable, wife of Stephen Bryant, was the daughter of Lt. Josiah Standish (son of Myles Standish).
