She attended school at Bottineau, North Dakota. She worked at a grocery store in Dunseith, North Dakota before moving to Seattle, Washington. She was employed by Boeing from 1941 to 1945.
She was united in marriage to Darrel Holscher on Sept. 11, 1945. They lived in Omaha, Nebraska for 6 years before settling in Syracuse, Nebraska. She worked at the dime store before being employed by the Post Office until she retired. They took several vacation and enjoyed traveling.
Melva is preceded in death by her husband Darrel, parents, two sisters, two brothers-in-law, a niece, nephew and great nephew. She is survived by three nieces, Norma Manning, Nancy Holscher, and Kris Kealiher Holscher, several great nieces and nephews, and many friends.
