Melvyn Steyn (1950 - 1992)

Brief overview:

Melvyn (41), and his daughter Liesl (12), were attacked at their spaza shop in Lentegeur, Mitchells Plain, at about 12 midday on Tuesday 29/12/1992.

Melvyn Steyn and his young daughter of Lavender Road, Lentegeur, were attacked in the shop by two men. They stabbed Steyn several times. He died as a result of his injuries. The men abducted his daughter in a light blue Toyota Corolla.

Liesl was later found by a beach constable at Monwabisi beach, with several stab wounds in her neck. She was taken to Groote Schuur Hospital were she underwent surgery.
