Mengen LeFevre -1 was born in 1495 in Alsacre, France. He died about 1577 in Chateau Chinon, Indre Et Loire, France

Mengen LeFevre and unknown spouse married. They had the following children:

1. Jean 'John' LeFevre was born in 1540 in Lorraine, France. He died about 1600 in Chateau, Chinon, Indre Et Loire, France.

Family lore believes that Mengen LeFèvre, the oldest known member of this branch of the Lefèvre family was born in 1495, probably in or near Strasbourg in Alsace-Lorraine, and died in France in about 1577. He may or may not have been related to the famed Parisian LeFèvre family of tapestry weavers.

In about 1543 Mengen LeFèvre received a coat of arms from Duke Antoine 'the Good Duke' of Lorraine. It was described as having a blue field, three crosses, recrossed, of gold, and a stag's head in silver.

Soon after Lefèvre received his arms, war broke out again in the region. It is believed that the family fled to the French province of Nivernois, southwest of Strasbourg, and over one hundred miles from Lorraine. Here in the shelter of the Vosges mountains where they meet the ridge running southeast from Paris, in the valley of the River Yonne, near Chatel-Chinon, the Lefèvres made their home until 1685.
