Biography

Mercy Towsley was born at Suffield, Connecticut on January 12, 1680 [1], daughter of Michael and Mary (Hussey) Towsley. Her parents were originally of Salisbury, Massachusetts, removing to Suffield in 1680. [2] [3]

Her father Michael Towsley of Suffield, Hampshire Co., Massachusetts, who died November 3, 1712, wrote his will on October 24, 1712, and left legacies to his children, including daughter Mercy. [4]

She married Benjamin Allen at Suffield on October 4, 1699. [5] Benjamin was born at Ipswich, Massachusetts in 1672, Ipswich, son of Edward Allen & Sarah Kimball. [6] [7]
