Mercy Bourne

Mercy was born to Capt. Joseph Hinckley and Mary Gorham in Barnstable in 1700.

At the age of 20, Mercy married John Bourne on Mar. 16, 1721 in Barnstable. It is believed that they started their family in the town of Sandwich and sometime after 1750, resided in Falmouth. Massachusetts.

Their children are believed to be:

Joseph (1725-1799), m. Hannah Hathaway in 1753.
Sarah (1725-1777), m. Lemuel Mendall in 1747.
John (1729-1794), m. Persis Davis in 1751.
Mercy (1731-1737)
Elizabeth (1733-1777), m1. Jonathan Swift in 1753; m2. Thomas Tabor in 1766.
David (1735-1790), m. Mary Hathaway in 1764.
Mercy (1738-1738)
Thomas (1740-1761)
Isaac (1746-1750)

Mercy died at the age of 78, surviving her husband by by 24 years. She is buried with her husband in the Falmouth Burying Ground.
