Notes

Mercy Barber was born 12 Oct 1651 Windsor, Hartford, CT. She was the daughter of Thomas Barber & Jane (Joan) Coggins. After her parents' death when she was nine years old, Mercy was placed by the court in the home of Walter Fyler until age 18, unless she married sooner. (She did). Genealogy of the Descendants of Thomas Barber of Windsor, CT. pg. 2.

In the Probate records in Hampshire Book 3 pages 36 37 is found the settlement of the estate of this Capt. George Norton dated March 31 1698. Mercy was his widow. burial should be changed to Old Centre Cemetery.
