Mercy, daughter of Anthony and Mercy (Sawyer) Eames, was born at Marshfield, MA on October 1, 1687. She married Capt. Joseph Phillips, son of Benjamin and Sarah (Thomas) Phillips, on July 19,1711. They lived in Marshfield all their lives where they had six children: Naomi, Elizabeth, Elisha, Agatha, Jerusha, and Mercy. Mercy (Eames) Phillips was related to a passenger on the Mayflower. Joseph died on June 13 1767 at the age of 82 and Mercy followed two years later on April 2, 1769 at the age of 81. They are buried at Marshfield Hills Cemetery.
