Attention CARR researchers:
I received the following from John Carr:
Several descendants of Benjamin Carr, father of Caleb and Robert, are trying to define the genetic signature of their line. I am assisting them as administrator of the Carr Family DNA Genealogy Project. Do you
happen to be in contact with any living descendants of the Carrs of Rhode Island, or any male Carrs for that matter. There may have been other genetic Carr lines in the north east back in the 17th through
19th century who have adopted Caleb and Robert as ancestors. As a result some genetic signatures may not match others in the project, so we need as deep a definition of all the families in the region as is
possible to obtain. Genetic testing shows the probability of biological link between males (Y Chromosome) and females (mitochondrial DNA).

An interesting study would be a DNA study of the descendants of Stephentown. Such an isolated population amy have a great deal of
interrelatedness, which makes it a good candidate for genetic studies.

The Carr project participants are interested in obtaining the genetic signatures of as many Carr men as possible to develop a genetic Carr Family tree. This will enable Carr Families to see who they are most
likely related to and where best to search for their ancestors.

Any assistance you can provide with linking us to more Carr men and with Carr family history is greatly appreciated.
