Captain Michael Armstrong

"Michael the third son of Robert was born the 28th April 1678, and in 1698 entered himself without his father's knowledge in a regiment of Dragoons in Ireland (Inniskillen)... Having served the Crown faithfully as a brave Officer for the space of 49 years, when the last rebellion in Scotland was extinguished, he sold his Troop and retired from the Army" - John Armstrong, 'The Pedigree of the family of Armstrong', continued by the Rev.
