Mike C. Bumgarner

Mike C. Bumgarner, 69, of Clements, Calif. died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003 after a long illness.

He was born March 3, 1934 at Bucu, Dickenson County. He moved to California in 1957 after serving four years in the U.S. Air Force. Until shortly before his death he was the owner of MBI Construction Company of Liverpool, Calif. He never tired of coming home to visit family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Bumgarner and one brother, Don Bumgarner.

Survivors include his wife, Rachel of the home; two daughters, Jackie Bumgarner of Modesto, Calif. and Sherri McSunas of Danville, Calif.; four grandsons and one granddaughter; his mother, Pearle Penland Bumgarner of Sterling; two brothers, Ben Bumgarner of Lebanon, Phil Bumgarner of Ashburn; and one sister, Kay Phillips of Lebanon.

A Celebration of Life Service was held on Nov. 7, 2003 at The First Baptist Church, Lodi, Calif.

Lodi Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
