About Michael Cadotte le petit
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michel_Cadotte
Descended of the the White Crane clan (the hereditary chiefs of the Lake Superior band Anishinaabe), Michel Cadot and his brother Jean-Baptiste were literate and able to speak fluent Ojibwe, English, and French. Cadot became the lead trader on the south shore of Lake Superior, and would remain so for decades. He acted as an intermediary between the Ojibwe and the governments of Canada and the United States.
Michel Cadotte Le Petit was the cousin to the above Michel Cadotte. People are getting the Cadotte family lines confused, blurring the difference between the two Cadotte men aforementioned. Agreed, people are creating a research issue by confusing the 2 Michael Cadotte's..
