About Michael Welensky, SV/PROG

Michael Welensky was trhe first President of the Gwelo (Gweru in Southern Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) Hebrew Congregation around 1897. He was drawn to the Kimberley diamonds of South Africa where he made and lost a small fortune before going to Southern Rhodesia.
