Michel Joffrion was born and baptized on 26 October 1677 at Boucherville, Nouvelle-France. Present at his baptism, which was performed on the same day as his birth, were his parents, Pierre and Marie, and Michel Le Messier, the Seigneur of Cap-St-Michel, and Marie Perrault, the wife of François Jarret, the Seigneur of Verchères. The Reverend Pierre de Caumont, the pastor of Boucherville, performed the baptism. The baptismal record was recorded at Boucherville and the name on the record is spelled "Geaufrion." He does not appear in the census of 1681 so he must have died before then.
