For years it was thought that Michel Leger dit Richelieu was the son of Jean Leger dit La Rosette and Marguerite Comeau, as originally stated by Bona Arsenault in his book " The History and Genealogy of the Acadians". Stephen White in a letter to a lady in Lafayette, Louisiana, said basically the same thing. However, that was proven to be wrong when he Stephen White, Genealogist, centre d" Estudes Acadiennes, University of Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, discovered while reading Father Yvon Leger's book "L'Acadie de mes Ancetres" that Michel was the son of Jean Leger dit Richelieu and Marguerite Marchand, and not the son of Jean Leger dit La Rosette and Marguerite Comeau. His Family and Baptismal information are listed below, which, comes from the "Le Leger" association. (*1A)
