About Miguel Lopez de Lizalde
"The peninsular trunk of the López de Elizalde, according to the information cited, was the marriage established by Miguel López de Lizardeor López de Lizalde (or Lizarde, or Lizalde) and his wife María de Aberruza, neighbors who were from the Villa de Tolosa in the Province of Huipuscua (Guipúzcoa). Of them it is known that they were "original Biscayans, lived and had in the said Town of Tolosa by People clean of houses and known Lots, and as such they always enjoyed the exceptions and freedoms that the Hijosdalgo enjoy." Miguel López de Elizalde and his wife María de Aberruza lived in Tolosa in the mid-16th century; and they were parents of: a) Juan López de Elizalde y de Aberruza, born in Tolosa around 1580. He went to the Indies and married in the Villa de Santa María de los Lagos on January 25, 1585 with Doña Leonor Becerra, daughter of Juan Becerra and Mrs. Anna Sánchez de Mendoza." [1]
