About Mildred Irene Amstutz
DALTON -- Mildred I. Nussbaum, 96, of Dalton, formerly of the Kidron area, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2015, at Shady Lawn Health Care Community in Dalton, after a period of declining health.
She was born near Kidron on May 29, 1919, to the late Amos and Fannie (Zuercher) Amstutz and married William S. Nussbaum on May 27, 1944. He died Jan. 30, 2013.
Mildred was a homemaker and farmer's wife. She was a charter member of Kidron Mennonite Church. God, home and family were her priorities.
She enjoyed sewing and making quilts, playing games with her grandchildren and making favorite foods for her family.
Surviving are children, Fred (Janet) Nussbaum of Wooster, Jan (Dean) Falb of Dalton, Sheryl (Joe) Chupp of Fredericksburg, Barb (Wayne) Miller of Orrville and Mim (Mike) Lehman of Apple Creek; grandchildren, Jeni Mast, Kelli Dancy, Scott Nussbaum, Matt Falb, Joe Chupp, Jay Chupp, Anthony Miller, Celesta Young, Marcus Miller, Aleah Neuenschwander and Seth Lehman; great-grandchildren, Cody and Logan Mast, Jacobi and Cade Dancy, Evan Falb, Brenden and Emma Pfeifer, Payton and Caity Stasko, Eden Chupp, Aaden, Kaelyn and Raegan Miller, Aislynn and Millie Young, Grant and Lena Neuenschwander, Payton and Emmersyn Lehman; a sister, Edith Schrock of Lancaster, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Esther Steffen of Dalton; and a brother-in-law, Clayton Geiser of Dalton.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Velma Amstutz, Evelyn Nussbaum and Sylvia Amstutz Martin; and brothers, Evan Amstutz and Ben Amstutz.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Kidron Mennonite Church, with Pastor Carl Wiebe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at Kidron Mennonite Church or Monday one hour prior to the services.
