Origins

Proof of Pierre Jr's wife was never found but possibly married Mildred "Middy" Archer in Virginia. She was born in Virginia according to records of Nora Young Ferguson [now deceased]. Mrs. Ferguson a;so mentioned chancery suit in Maryland. Many researchers listed her as "Middy" or "Mildred." Some researchers believed Pierre married Mildred Allen, daughter of William Allen but no Mildred or "Middy" was mentioned in William Alles's will of 1752. One researcher claimed she was Ann Middy Isham. The late Forest Faris, Chastain researcher, reported Huguenot Society gave him Mildred Archer as wife of Pierre Chastain, Jr. Nellie Ayers [Ayers Kin & Kin to Kin] stated "Peter Chastain 11, father of Rene, was living in Buckingham County, Virginia in 1761 and his wife "Middy".

Taken from PIERRE CHASTAIN HIS DESCENDANTS, VOL. 1, FIRST FIVE GENERATIONS IN AMERICA. PPG 15 & 16.

Middy is not daughter of William Witt and his wife (surname unknown). This was speculation based on Pierre Chastain being Executor for Wm. Witt's will, but no other evidence has been found to support this theory. Also the Pierre Chastain Family Association leaves Middy's surname as unknown.
