About Milivoj Andrija Sumich
Came to WA in 1931 aged 9 yrs old. His father Frank who was a cook in merchant Croatian Navy came to WA circa 1925 as woodcutter in native bush camps brought his family to Swan View property clearing native bush with Clydesdale horses to plant market garden at time of the Depression. Due to his congenital eye deformity, Sam was not permitted to serve during the Second World War, but enjoyed social dances and clubs with his sisters before marrying his only wife Nevenka Šulenta who arrived in Western Australia in 1955 after surviving the war as a child, uneducated unskilled.

On board with Nediljka Nede Sumich (Miličić) (mother); sisters — Milka Private and Nevenka Private — and the Jujnović family — Ivka Jujnovich, Ante Jujnovich, Ivan Jujnovich, Karmelo Jujnovich, Mare Moran (Jujnovic) and Nediljko Jujnovich.
His wife Nevenka Šulenta arrived at Fremantle, Western Australia per the vessel, "SS Oceania" on 20 February 1955; from Genoa via Ports.
Milivoj and Nevenka had two children — Frank Miro and Judith Maureen Sumich.
